Grant Enfinger lands full-time NASCAR Truck Series ride with ThorSport
Grant Enfinger will at last find himself able to chase a NASCAR championship.
ThorSport Racing announced on Tuesday that it has signed the 32-year-old former ARCA Racing Series champion to a full-time deal to drive the No. 98 Toyota Tundra in the Camping World Truck Series. This comes fresh off a successful part-time campaign with GMS Racing in which the Alabama native captured his first victory in October at Talladega Superspeedway.
“I’m extremely grateful to ThorSport Racing and Toyota for the opportunity to drive full time in the Truck Series,” Enfinger said. “This is a dream come true, and I’m blessed to be able to share this season with some great people. I’m proud to be continuing the partnership with Champion Power Equipment, along with starting new ones with Jive Communications, RIDE TV, and Curb Records.
“I’m very impressed with the people, equipment, and facility that Duke and Rhonda Thorson have assembled, and I can’t wait to get to Daytona in a few weeks.”
The No. 98 team will be led by veteran crew chief Jeff Hensley. The 54-year-old worked with Enfinger and Spencer Gallagher last season at GMS Racing but returns to ThorSport after serving a two-year stint with the team in 2014 and 2015. He has 13 wins to his credit and is entering his 14th season as a Truck Series crew chief.
