England’s Ben Stokes remains a doubt for the second Test against Pakistan and will have a fitness test on his hamstring injury before play starts at Headingley on Friday.
The all-rounder was set to have a scan on the injury on Thursday.
He spent time in the nets on Thursday morning and was able to run at full intensity without any issues, but did not practice bowling or fielding.
England slumped to a nine-wicket defeat in the first Test at Lord’s.
Surrey’s left arm seamer Sam Curran has been brought in as cover for Stokes – his first Test call-up.
England captain Joe Root said: “We don’t know too much at the moment – it will probably have to be quite late on to see how fit he is in the morning.
“Someone like Ben, you want that character in the team.
“He offers a lot in all aspects of the game. We’ll have to view selection around that.”
